CAE USA has selected the software platform, the Fox Training Management System by Britannica Knowledge Systems, for its training facility in construction at Dothan Regional Airport in Alabama. CAE will use this facility to deliver comprehensive initial and recurrent C-12 airplane training to more than 600 U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force fixed-wing pilots under a U.S. Department of Defense contract.
CAE’s new 75,000-square-foot facility, located in close proximity to the U.S. Army’s Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) at Fort Rucker, is slated to be operational by March 2017. As a modular, consumer-off-the-shelf (COTS) platform, Fox will oversee and improve the efficiency of training and qualification management for the facility’s many trainees, instructors, simulator bays, classrooms and briefing rooms.
“We are proud to be selected and look forward to supporting CAE and the US Army and Air Force in optimizing their demanding training operations and ensuring pilot qualification,” said Miki Ringelhim, VP Business Development at Britannica Knowledge Systems.
Fox will oversee complicated military scheduling and the management of the facility’s costly simulators, the Grob aircraft and other devices, with the goal of improving training effectiveness and maximizing resource utilization. Fox’s qualification management tools will manage the complete lifecycle of qualification training, enabling CAE to ensure that both instructors and trainees acquire and maintain the requisite skills and certifications in order to perform their duties.
The facility will use Fox’s complete Learning Management System (LMS) for courseware, delivery and management. Fox will provide CAE with a standardized evaluation process containing unique test-authoring, grading and briefing/debriefing tools, along with analytical dashboard views. These powerful capabilities will allow CAE and training command to accurately and in real-time, analyze performance to close gaps, change focus and contend with exceptions.
